A noted authority on the subjects of graphic design, logo design, and corporate branding, Dave produced his first book on logo design in 1972, and has since created more than 100 books in those fields. He is the biggest-selling editor/author in the history of graphics books. Dave has a varied background which includes founding an advertising agency that quickly qualified for AAAA membership. Soon after, he won his first Clio Award; he would go on to be honored by the Clios ten more times. He also worked in television, writing and producing 700 commercials. After he founded a TV production company in 1982, his work appeared on PBS and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. He won seven Emmy Awards for work he wrote and/or produced. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Dave also received a master's degree in advertising from the Ohio University School of Journalism. In 1998, he graduated from the three-year OPM (Owner/President Management) program at the Harvard Business School. Deciding that his lifelong accomplishments have earned him a place in the sun, Dave now resides in Sanibel, Florida and spends his “free” time developing documentaries on socially-relevant and humorous topics—sometimes within the same film. His recent work includes the universally-themed Ashland's Field of Dreams, a film about boys who played baseball at a very special place in the 1950s (www.CP-1.org).

Marcie Carson is Principal and Creative
Director of Los Angeles based graphic design agency IE Design + Communications. The agency was established in 1995 by Marcie and her
husband, Corey Baim, on a simple premise: to offer smart solutions
for clients’ increasingly complex communication needs. Today,
after more than thirteen years of continued growth, IE has solidified
itself as a leader among design agencies nationwide. From their
historic building on Pacific Coast Highway, IE Design’s impressive
roster of clients grows each year as the agency continues to work
with businesses that are leaders in their respective industries
(think: Getty, USC, Disney, Hilton, BMW, and Dole). From
the beginning, Marcie Carson’s distinctive design approach has been
honored and published widely. As early as 1999, HOW identified IE
Design as one of “seven red-hot firms to watch” and Communication
Arts featured the agency’s “innovative work” in 2000. Over the years,
Marcie and her team have garnered more than 100 design awards from
organizations and competitions such as Graphis, Print, HOW,
Creativity, STEP, and Davey. Marcie has also been featured in numerous

and subsequently helped them develop content for their O*NET Program
that educates people about graphic design. Marcie has been a longtime
contributor to the design industry by participating on judging
panels, student portfolio reviews, guest lectures, and intern programs,
as well as speaking at various marketing and design events across the
country. Marcie Carson graduated with honors from the
University of California at Santa Barbara where she earned a
double-major in Communication and Fine Art. She began her creative
career in 1991 at the consummate eighties retail chain, Contempo

Departments, she helped develop and communicate the company’s image to
store locations nationwide. In 1993, Marcie’s love of fashion and
adventure continued when she toured the globe as a stylist for
