Eyelid surgery is a common procedure to correct tired eyes. The correction of tired eyelids through blepharoplasty is quite common. Many patients find it very annoying, because they give the impression (usually incorrect) that their eyes look tired. The eyes are the focal point of every interaction. There are many articles on the value of blepharoplasty surgery (eyelids). Tired, tired eyes will be noticed by anyone!

It is important to note that the eyes are often the main focus in many social interactions. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid tucks can help reverse this tired appearance. The removal of a bit of extra skin and fat will make your eyes appear brighter, less tired and younger. That’s why I consider blepharoplasty to be the best facial-aging procedure. It is responsible for the greatest improvement in your looks.

It is interesting to note that blepharoplasty for most people is not painful. It is true that there are some visible bruising and swelling around the eyes, but there is almost never any pain. While you might look like a ‘beaten-up’ person, it doesn’t mean that’s how you feel. “Social recovery” is my term for the post-blepharoplasty healing process. The question is when will you be comfortable returning to public? Some people don’t give a damn what others say and can be back on the streets within three or five days. Most patients are concerned about their public image, but it may still take 7 to 10 working days for them to be fully back.

In blepharoplasty plastic surgery, what you are doing before and afterwards can affect the amount of bruising or swelling. Aspirin or non-steroidal drugs that may cause excessive blood loss should be avoided. Arnica tablets should be taken one week prior to and immediately after surgery. Keep your head raised and use ice to cool the eyes for 24 hours. You can also apply ice to the Actipatch Eye Recovery face mask. I do this immediately after surgery. ActiPatch is a device that emits electromagnetic waves to help decrease swelling. Once the surgery has been completed, you only have to apply a thin layer of antibacterial ointment on your eyelids in order to maintain moisture. It keeps the sutures softer so they can be removed more easily.

Within 10-14days, your lower eyelid will be able to look normal, even with some minor swelling. In 3 weeks you can enjoy all the benefits of blepharoplasty! Undoubtedly, you’ll look refreshed. Most people won’t realize it is due to the eyelid procedure.
